Founded in 1425, UCLouvain is one of Belgium’s and Europe’s leading universities. For almost 600 years it has welcomed students from around the world, without regard to their political or religious beliefs. The university strives to be multicultural, multilingual, open and tolerant. It was here that Georges Lemaître formulated his Big Bang theory and Christian de Duve won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1974. UCLouvain has seven locations in Belgium.
